Data Transmission

1. Y would create a special menu point for the transmission of data ('Send HTTP' and 'Send SMS'). It's not logic to put them in the 'setting' menu.

2. Can you publish the type and format of data you are sending to a remote server. If I'm looking to the data stream (in the Java console or via PHP on my remote server) I would suppose this is binary!?

1. Send Location

1. Dou you mean new item in the main menu?

2. Data is sent via Http POST with encoding "application/x-www-form-urlencoded". See Send Location.
Server side functionality for this feature is not online yet but you can use it with your own server.

Send location

1. Yes, for me this a main feature and has nothing to do with settings. I.e. let's say I'm somewhere out there, have a look at my mobile where I am and send this position with "one click" to my GIS-server or record a track, stop recording and send the data back to my server - at least this would be great ;-)
Just fantazising: my server could draw a shape file or KML-file and minutes later I (or somebody else) could view my information via the GIS-Server.

By the way I am using a Sony Ericsson K610i and a GPS mouse Holux GPSlim 236, your program works just fine.

Menu Item

You are right, it can be a main feature and should not be so deep in the menu.

I want to add tracking functionality to navigami server and intergrate google maps where you will be able to see your position, position of your friends, tracks, landmarks ...

Location Sharing

Hey,

Im creating just that for the OpenMoko GPS software. How about joining our protocol? That would make the OpenMoko phones compatible with any phone running Navigami when it comes to Location Sharing.

The protocol is very simple, and i can implement a client in java for you. Our server generates KML which can be viewed fullscreen in both Google Maps and Google Earth.

Let me know if you're interested! (geert at schuring dot eu)
